Hi, Don't know where you are located, but any non-warranty rod repair I would send it to Roger Baert in Maritzburg. He's very good, and I think he still advertises in the TCFF mag.
Try him if you can't find anyone closer to you.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any info on how to repair rod handles? I recently purchased a new rod and after my first session on the river, the “Filling” use to cover some of the imperfections in the cork has started to come out.

Mayfly, If the rod is doing this after one session I would take it back to the dealer I bought it from and demand a replacement. if he won't come to the party then you know never to deal with him again Possibly name & shame as well.

What rod is it ? None of my rods have any sort of filler on the grip from what I can see, even the cheapies.
Hi there mayfly (?)
You can refill the holes with a mixture of fine cork dust mixed with some normal five minute epoxy. Use a wine bottle cork and sand off enough dust to fill the holes and simply mix this with the epoxy. Fill the hole with this mixture and carefully stick some masking tape over the hole until the epoxy has set. This way there is no bump or dent on the grip and I can assure you that this mixture never falls out again.
Cheers

Good tip that thanks "MCC" , have a few nicks in my handle which is causing some irritation !
That vocab looks very familiar I agree....
Thanks for the info MCC, much appreciated.
Herman, I'm new to this site and have been burnt, flamed & bounced off other sites before. So I'll wait a while before I "rock the boat" as they say, with a name & shame.
The manufacturer is having an open day in 2 weeks, so I'll show my rod to them & see what they say.
When I started f/f for yellows I started out with a STEALTH Start kit. The rod tip has broken about 18" from the tip.( My own stupidity ). My local shop says a new tip section would cost about R100.00 which I'm not prepared to pay.
My question is, I could retip the remaining piece of the front section giving me an effective 7'6" 5/6# rod, with a very stiff action. Would a rod such as this be of any use anywhere, except maybe as a boat fly rod

Had the same on my Ultegra 8'6" ended up with a 7' 5WT which fished great on small streams and for use on places like the Moreleta and even dam fishing. Thing is the rod loaded instantly prior to break and still had the same characteristic post break, it was very very very stiff, probably moreso than the Stealth and I ended up with a rod that was small enough to use in tiny spaces and was ideal at rollcasting 5-10m shoots in a single cast.
