Fishing in George

I'm going to visit family in George for a few days in December and was wondering if anyone knows of any fishing spots around there.

I know of Island Lake out near Wilderness for bass. Though my old man reckons it's best fished with a boat.

I was Google Earthing George and noticed that the George Dam is right near his house. Anyone have any info on fishing this dam? There's also alot of vlei's out towards Sedgefield
