Fortunately, as quickly as the Cape streams come up, they usually settle down nicely after 5 days of no rain. I have no doubt about that they will be high, but if we have a 5 day period of no rain prior to 1 Sept, we should be able to winkle out a fish or two. Big poodle RABs on the surface and sub surface will be the way to go I reckon

Bladdy right Chris. Rabs and soft hackles, size 14 stimulators, and adams'. If the water's high, tandem rigs in the runs.

Well i'll get a map, so he can run if he likes.

There was no better way to put it Chris. I have my mind set on 20+ fish. There are two types of fishing i want to excel in and thats the salt and stream (specially dry fly only). I use to do quite a bit of mountain climbing, but that was 10 years ago before i got married.. The helderberg mountain in somerset west i have climbed quite a few times, got lost once and had to make my way down in the dark straight to the pub

20 fish is not overly optimistic. If the stream has settled nicely, you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't worry too much about the fitness thing, we will definitely take it very easy, and none of us have anything to prove to the other. I don't think I have ever in my entire life been as unfit as I am right now. The most important thing is just getting out onto the streams again and enjoying every moment. That is my main mission
