    Default Alternative waters for yellows

    Hi all

Most yellow spots (near Jhb anyway) are on the Vaal system. Does anyone know of other spots within say 3hrs of Jhb that are not on the Vaal. Can also be spots that offer other species than smallies and largies.

Sterkfontein is the obviuos one - but what about others?

Directions/phone numbers etc would be nice

    Cheers

Jean, there is the Crocodile River, above and below Harties, the Elands River, the Pienaars river, the magalies, the hennops but here you will be targeting large and small SCALE yellows. Different knid of fishing all together.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

    Default Klip River

I frequently fish the Klip River South of JHB
My buddy caught one of the biggest Yellows I've ever seen caught - the length of his arm! ~4.5KG!!!!
Do not go alone though, for security measures!
