    Default Forum Menu Too Big

Just an observation here. I find the menu too big, with too many headings. I don't really know where to post a new topic as there are just too many options. And given the odd places i find some threads, I suspect others may also get confused. I pretty much use the forum as a big message board, by looking only at the listing of new posts. Which is fine, it is just when posting new threads, or trying to find older topics, that I run into issues with the huge number of sections and sub-sections.

I think that the forum could easily run with just the following sections:

    New members
    Freshwater Flyfishing
    Saltwater Flyfishing
    Flytying
    Fly Casting
    Equipment
    Rod Building
    Sponsor News
    Auctions / Classifieds
    Conservation
    General fishing related
    Club News / Events
    Around the Campfire
    Website Improvements

Does anyone else have similar issues? Maybe it's just me?

I couldn't agree more. I find myself using the site less and less because it has become something of a maze to navigate since the update.

I'm confused, the sections are exactly the same as it was prior to the update? You can also minimize sections that you are not interested in to shorten the list if you so desire.

I for one feel the sections are near perfect and have no issues, except maybe for the duplication that may exist between the Fresh & Saltwater Fly tying sections with the general Fly tying section.

I miss the "new posts" block at the top of the landing page which allowed me to easily see what's happening. I can still find it but it requires a few more clicks.

Not sure what you mean by a "few clicks" Wazzy?? The "New Posts" is right there under the "What's New" block - One click and you can see all the new posts

I agree 100%. By clicking on "forum" you have access to multiple menu options and some have their own drop down menu. As for the headings the look exactly the same as before.

I think most of us need a bit of training on how to use some of the functions.Or admin must give us some pointers via a thread.
I for one find the forum less active nowadays, and its mostly 3 or 4 guys really posting something regularly.
Could be because no one is fishing though

I know the link is on the landing page. But a list of the new items used to be on the top of the landing page. Effectively the page you get after clicking the link used to be on the landing page.
