    Hi to all the newbies on the site.

    The nature of this site is that you learn due to all the collective ideas from the other forum members.

    Gerrit - I would not be surprised if Richard still do not use conventional strike indication i.e. strike indicators. He probably fishes without an indicator with lines marked on the tip of his fly line, or when tying his leader ties in a piece of high viz mono to indicate strikes. This method is used in competition angling as strike indicators are not allowed. Although Richard is no longer fishing competatively(sad), he probably realized the advantages of this technique.

    Strike indicators works well when used properly, but they also can introduce drag, and cause poor fly presentation.
