Ok, try one more trick. Put your hand on the fly and press the button half way down. This should focus on your hand. Holding the button at that position, take your hand away and put the paper behind it again. Then press it all the way down and take the photo.
Hope it works.
*EDIT* - Also try a bit more light if you can.
Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey
I think no innocent species of wit or pleasantry should be suppressed; and that a good pun may be admitted among the smaller excellencies of lively conversation.

I put my point fly on first. I have found that if you put the dropper flies on first, you just end up with a tangle before you've even started fishing.

Nice looking fly, you ever consider rather using a cone head instead of a bead? would improve the profile of the fly
I also use to leave the hook shank bare when spinning deerhair but now I rather put a layer of thread down, still spins fine with some practice and is much more durable

Fly-fishing surpasses the need to actually catch a fish, it becomes a mindset, and with time, an obsession.
Lord,grant that I may catch a fish so big that even I,
When speaking afterwards,
May have no need to lie.
