Default WADERS for the Vaal river

    Hi Guys,
After reading some comments on wet vs dry wading in the Vaal river (afraid of catching some nasty bugs), I have decides to buy some waders. I can get a set of XPLORER BREATHABLE WADERS for under a grand. Is this a good price? Are these waders up to standard?

Are you Juss or just stupid dude.... Explorer is not bad? What are you talking about. Those waders I would not wear on the Vaal. You might as well strap a mirror to yourself and reflect the sh1t out of the water.

Mad Max - Try and fined yourself a wader that is not white, rather something that is darker more natural colour, Simms make a nice grey colour, Stealth make a nice khaki colour and Vision have a nice dark browny green colour.

If you still want an Explorer try to recolour them with permanent markers or something.

I've got one of those Stealth Deluxes(Vaal colour to blend in so to speak) but have found that after a season in the sun, washing it does become a bit lighter in colour.

I think like you mentioned a darker colour might last longer colour wise and will be more approriate when fishing in area's that experience rain often, like Highland Run this past weekend.

It all depend where he comes from and how he uses those markers, If he come from the Cape Flats then we will have a very colorful graffiti look to it.

If he comes from the Farm I'm sure he will improvise.... Camo look.

Is it coz I am white ?

The best thing about being in the plastics industry is you will never short of materials for your scores of adoring fans to put over your head and strangle you with.

I wasn't referring to suitability of purpose, merely referring to the quality of the waders, besides the rest of the Vaalies seem to use it on the Vaal to no ill effect ... must be a Capetonian thing.
