    Hi Wiets

Perhaps a more serious answer to the question Yes, I love using Beaver (the animal) fur. Especially the belly has the most wonderfull soft fur, which is great for dubbing small dry flies. The longer hair on the back (also wonderfully soft) makes the most awesome tails (a point I discussed with Kietzman while fishing Tina Head a week ago), and gives Water Mongoose a run for it's money.

    I can bet...

Speaking of Water Mouse Dog, anyone caught killing one, will stand prosecution... of course accidently hitting one while driving your car is a different story. Of course the farmers do request you avoid hitting their fences and live stock while your veer 10 meters off the road so as not to miss it.

I got a really great patch at Solly's Angling Corner. This was quite a while ago though. Best is to get some from AA Outfitters. Also, while on this topic, try to obtain some Snowshoe Hare's Foot - WOW!!!!

Solly's in waterglen has snow hare shoes (assuming they are the same thing) if anyone is keen on them.

Chris it shouldn't need moth balls if you use it frequently enough... . I also prefer Brazilian beaver to the long haired varieties.

Jeesh ... I must be getting old!!!

Where are the days where I understood the beaver run and language!
Only after checking ShaunF's cartoon post twice did I catch a sniff of the "other" beaver!

    How thick can one be?

If we're talking beaver fur, it should preferably be quite thin

what? the beaver or the fur?

I can see this is going to go nowhere close to what Wiets intended it to go
