There's a place near Wonderboom airport, right opposite the garage on the corner of Airport road and Lavender. They have river frontage with a couple of weirs and a stocked pond. It's close enough for an hour or two after work and the owner claims to have yellows in a small stream off the river. Reckons there are big barbel and tilapia in the dams above the weirs.

Picked up three 1 kg odd bass, one closer to 1.5 and a vlei kurper in a couple of hours working the site. R10 to get in with your car and R50pp gets you access to the river. An extra R30 gets you access to the stocked tilapia/bass pond. Bit pricey but beats being bored.
