Ja, our Vaalie larvae are generally a bit darker and sort of more olive/grey and slightly transparent. The pupae as Rory calls them are 'ice cream cone' shaped with air bubble - Rory's going to try tie some tonight but I've a heavy biz meeting so won't join him. The adults you'll have also seen - like ugly brown mother mini-horse flies - and they like Jasper's/Tye's blue Flytalk shirts to bite thru!! ..

Nice one Rory, presume this is the 'ice cream' pupa? On Thursday I'll attempt to tie the larva jobbie I've been working on which seems to fool a few fish

To quite honest your one looks like a good combo of both larva and pupa so may keep life a lot simpler!!!

More prototypes. Tried to simplify, one with antron yarn and flashback, one Brassie type and a v-rib type. I'll be giving them a test drive on Wednesday. All are size 16.
