I had occasional foul hookups with muddies in the early part of my fishing career on the Holspruit River in the Eastern Cape.This only occurred when fishing with flies larger than #12.I've never foulhooked a muddie with #14 flies and smaller.However I can't understand how muddies get foulhooked with large flies but take a no.1 spinner plum
