Welcome to the forum, have you tried Garmin's topo map's?
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and I thought I'd introduce myself before making any other posts. I started flyfishing about 6 years ago in the Vaal, and since then have pursued anything that eats flies! I am going down to the Orange River this weekend below the Gariep Dam for some fun. Flow rates look scary though (+-90cm3/s). What I wanted to know is where I can get a good map of Gauteng's river systems - especially the Brits/Magaliesburg/Vaal/Upper/Lower Orange areas. I've tried the DWAF website and they have a full coverage map of all drainage areas in SA, but its data for GIS and I can't use it, or make any sense of it. Even the images on google maps don't label streams, tribs and rivers consistently. Anyone willing to assist?
I'm taking a guide up to the North flowing rivers one Monday soon, so I can get aquainted with LS and SS fishing techniques. Will report back.
