    Default Yellow fish techniques

    Howzit guys!

I dearly want to catch some small mouth yellows in the Vaal, thus I will be going to the Vaal soon in the new year.

I want to know how to rig the correct leader and what is the best fly selection in order to have success.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hi Shamwari,

Nice to have you on Fly Talk. The guys here will beable to give you a wealth of information. Most of them fish over the weekend though, so I'd give them chance till monday.

With regard to your questions, I think your questions have already been answered, check the following threads below as reference:

    For the leader setup:

    For the flies:

You could also research the New Zealand rig which may be more suitable for you. Check with Nymph+O- he can possibly help and often looks for a fishing partner.

Welcome Shamwari, good to see another whenwe on the site
There are still a few spots available for sat 9th at eendekuil as far as I know but you would have to book direct with eendekuil. Why not come and join us?
P.S. Eendekuil's contact details can be found under tha Vaal Trip thread.

Mina konobva ku Harare. Mom is from Fort Vic and Dad is from pretty much all over the place as he was a policeman.

Are you related to Jerry Jooste the bass fisherman by any chance?
