I see the temperature at the barrage is now 11 degrees. At what point will it be worth it for us normal people to hit the water chasing smallies?
That sounds colder than I thought it would be. I was below Parys this weekend and the water wasn't Clifton cold (Cape Townians will understand).

I've always wanted to understand the temp from the Barrage. I think we discussed this before somewhere but the conversation didn't get to the actual point.
Where is the temp taken from? I.e. depth, as it fluctuates by 1 degree and more sometimes, so it must be taken from a shallow depth to account for the daily temp swing.

Gerrit did you take a water temp reading by any chance?
I'm curious to know what say 11 degrees out of the Barrage equates to temp down steam at say Eendekuil. (Run off excluded, as that's actually where most of the temp difference comes from if I recall)
If the water temp at the barrage is measured 30cm below the the Barrage water surface at 7am as an example, it will be much cooler than the water than actually flows out of the Barrage, as that water is deeper down and therefore warmer and more stable.

I didn't no but it felt quite mild wasn't that cold to be honest if I had to guess probably around 12-13.
