i fish it 90% of the time, avg last season was a fish every 20min. I am still new to fly fishing so I think that is quite good. Czech nymphing below the rapids
with 2 flies. Have not caught anything else byt yellows there.

I hear the farmer closed some of the "parking" there.....You guys must be careful to just park there in no-mans land.

We park on the side of the road before the bridge. There is always fisherman on weekends so safe with other people around. I always go armed to river.

yeah same here, also have never had a problem there.

Did a float tube drift once from scandinavia drift to raaswater. Lots of catfish, few muddies but mostly yellows. Took us almost the whole day.

    Good morning All,

Great website. i really enjoy all the info posted.

Fished Voelwaters yesterday with my brother. Flow rate was ok with not alot of snot around.

I landed 2 smallish yellows and 7 mud fish. most were foul hooked. My brother landed 3 muddies.

Interesting the we found this small guy floating from upstream. Estimated weight between 18 and 20 kg. my scale only gets to 15kg and it was pulled flat.

Sad that we couldn't revive the fish. It was taken away by some locals.....

That fish looks like a mix between a carp and yellow fish

Has anyone fished Wolwespruit in the Leeudoringstad area recently? I am considering spending a weekend there camping. Will it be worth the effort?

Wolwespruit very good spot for yellow fish. It always produces fish if the weather and water level ok. I'm going to try my luck next weekend there. Last trip there I had an encounter with a two meter snake near the river, scared the hell out of me.
