This mornings breakfast punch a feisty 12lber Largie! Dropped a bad boy soon after the take was so hard the rod almost ended up in the river hehe eventually just ran me of I couldn't stop it.....

How heavy are you fishing there Gerrit?
Rod Wt, Leader make up, tippet etc..?
How far did she take you before the break off?
Did she get to structure or just pop you on the straight pull or line drag?
Had one on Sunday pull the boat with sandbag anchor into the structure. Stopped 4 runs of 30/40m to deeper water upstream and then she changed direction and headed downstream for structure pulling the boat and dragging the anchor for about 15m. Lost it after 20' and not a single sighting of the fish. Was reversing out of structure with max pressure on the rod when the 12lb tippet gave up. Managed to pull her out about 2m when a sudden head jerk ended the struggle. Water about 1,5m at the structure of overhanging trees and roots.
Caught a 12kg cat about 2 hrs before and 200m upstream from that place and it never managed to move the boat at all in a 30min fight on 6Wt.
Going back to a 7Wt or even an 8Wt again for Largies!

20lb tapered leader - Sage 7wt - about 20m - on a rock or log not sure could clearly feel tik and of he/she went!

Went out on saturday. Caught 2 SM Yellows, 1 muddie and lost 4. Don't know why I lost so many this time around. All were caught from 6:50am to 9am then it went quiet. Lost the last one 10:30 then called it a day. Will load pics soon. 2 X orange hot spot 1 x mustard caddis
