After some good rains Vaal Dam current level is 53.63%.
and going lower down? Potch area? Surely all the weirs between barrage and Schoemansdrif will block most of the strong flow? Looking to go to Schoemansdrif tomorrow maybe.

Seasons compliments to all fellow fishermen...
Does anyone know what the flow from Potch to Klerksdorp is doing?
Secondly, can you recommend good spots for these kind of flows.
I've read the Vermaasdrift is promising, is that still true and how do you access the river? I was there 2 months or so ago and the only way i could see was to jump...
No ways you going to fish this weekend on fly, water still very high. Vermaasdrift you would have to park your car on the bridge and than walk down to get to the stream. Not safe to fish there at the moment, guy got robbed and hijacked a while back. I would rather fish Schoemansdrift bridge or go to Scandavia bridge resort, much safer. Fishing is not safe anymore like before, I always carry my handgun with me in or out of the water.
Any idea what the viz is like on the Vaal, Parys area? Flow seems to be back to normal at around 29.

Is anybody catching Yellows in the Vaal lately?
caught a couple last weekend. Also saw bunch of guys reporting good catches this past weekend. Water still murky but fishable.
How busy are things on the Vaal of late? I remember fishing at Ben-Joh and yoh, it looked like Durban pier, even okes fishing in the spawning grounds (a whole other debate for another time). The sheer number of people put me off fishing the Vaal, especially at venues that once seemed to control numbers.
Bubble, Bubble, Bubble and Squeak...I think this mixture is too weak!!!???" (Wrex Tarr)
I caught 5 Yellows at Vermaasdrift yesterday afternoon. Water still a bit high, I think the coming weekend the water going to be perfect.
