I flew over a few days ago and it was looking fantastically full. Tip, if flying Jozi to CT, sit on the left hand window seats. Pretty much always get to see Lakies and the rest of the Ceres mountains.

going up to Lakies next week midweek. first time fishing there. what are the do's and dont's?

    sinking or intermediate lines?

flies i think are sorted for now. we will be float tubing the area.

any advice would be a great help.

There is a thread for Lakies, read it, it is the easiest.
To answer your questions will take about 3 hours to write up.

We had a super day at Lakies, yesterday.
As we approached, the mountains white with snow and as we pumped the boat, snow started falling.
    But this stopped very quickly.
at the end of the day had a fish on average every 30 minutes in boat.
Fish is super fat almost looked like chubby fish, not the normal elongated long Lakies fish.
In some instances almost had a pot belly so full of food

Spoke to Uncle Louis at the CPS today, he says Lakensvlei is on fire with some good size fish being landed. Anyone been up there recently with more info?

I spoke to a couple of guys that were there, had amazing fishing.
With the rain, the fishing will only improve.
The water is very clear and fish were deep, and very strong.
