If you're fly fishing as though you are 'in a contest', and the only objective is to 'catch fish' - you are missing the point .... and that is disappointing

I like it ... don't even show it to YellowFever because he is CDC bef@k, he will probably want to marry it

I especially like what you did with the trimmed stems for feelers.

If I had to tie it, I'd change it a bit though, I'd keep using a feather/deer hair/elk hair for the overwing (it's just more buoyant) and then make the body from CDC, it's proven to be deadly for SmallMouth, should do similarly well for Troot.

There can NEVER be enough so keep posting!! Wish some of the other lazy forumers would hop on the bandwagon too.

Looks like an awesome fly, and very clever just using one type of material.

The antennae is brilliant - love it. The fly is also great!! Might just have quite a large footprint when wet. Post a sequence, I'll definately tie some of those in smaller sizes!!!!!!

    Very innovative Morne!!

Hook size and fly size are vastly different things. That fly of yours is probably a #12 - #14 if you take the size of the materials sticking out the back/side etc. I'd tie it on a #18 - #20 hook, so that the actual fly is about #16.
