    Default Grannom (Tying Sequence)

    Hook: #12-16
    Tag: Uni Neon 1/0 chartreuse
    Thread: Olive
    Body: Yellow/Picric Hare's ear
    Wing: Deer Hair

    Mount hook and tie in tag, coat tag in superglue.

    Now prepare your dubbing while the glue dries, pull a bit off the back of the ear where it meets the mask.

    Give it a quick hand mix to merge the colours.

    Start thread and wrap down to tag, dub and wrap up to just before eye.

    Cut a lump of deer hair off the pelt, remove the underfur, stack the tips and tie in. Whip finish and varnish the whip.

    Also works well on a curved caddis hook.

    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

    Once again, nice pattern.....

    What is the purpose of the fluoro tag?

    To make the pattern more visible?

    Egg sack.

    That pattern will also work in a beaded version as a diving/egg laying caddis adult.
