    Default Gubu

    Hi poenie
So how was the fishing, I just saw your post now. I used to fish Gubu loads when I was at Rhodes university. Had lots of good times there.
How is the dam doing and any decent fish.
    Thanks
    Mark

    HI Mark S,

Poenie could not make that weekeng so it fell flat. Gubu is fishing very well of late with lots of good fish being caught. The water is as always crystal clear and remains constantly full. Best fishing areas have been Vans Point, the turn on entering Otters and then the Rocks opposite the Camping grounds.

The trout are really in good condition and thus fighting hard. Lots of dry fly opportunities as plenty of hatches occur.

    HI Guys,

Just heard some disturbing news, Poenie and some guys went up to GUBU this weekend. Poenie suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. Only 34 years of age.

Our prayers are with his wife and 2 baby kids and family.

    BLOODY HELL.

    My thoughts to the family.

May Poenie fish in peace in the streams of the hereafter.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

Thanks Herman, I think Erica and the kids really suffered a big blow as I have later learnt they were also present when all happened. Really sad.

Being the older/elder normally on these trips, they and especially Poenie always ''chirped me'' not to die on them and stuff their ff up. Little do the young know, the good die young.

    Hi Dave

This is very sad to hear. Wish there was something other to say that would make any difference.
