    Default Rod Building Supplies

    Hi All

Well we now have this forum, so lets kick it off.

We can probably start with sharing suppliers. Were do you get your supplies?

Two websites I find very good for getting supplies from are:

    http://www.hookhack.com/
    and
    http://www.aaoutfitters.com/

Also, maybe it would be a good idea if someone that knows some of the rod buildeing greats in the country to convince them to join and check this forum now and then for giving us rookies advice.

    Just some thoughts.

PS: Thank you Site Admin for creating this forum.

you can also check out http://flexcoat.com for info on their products such as their rud building glue and rod wrapping finishing epoxy

I can highly recommend AAOutfitters. I got all my stuff from Gene. Superb service and speedy delivery. Haven't waited more than 5 days for stuff to be ready for me to collect at the Post Office.

can anybody give me some kind of guidance on which guides to use? (pun intended)

i've looked at the pacific bay, sage, fuji, american tackle company, etc etc etc ...

the fuji concept guides look and sound pretty cool, but then again, so do the others. ... . . . .

    any advice?

I have been very happy with the Hopkins and Holloway guides used by Sage on their factory rods.

    Hi,

I got it from a local braai shop, BBQ Concepts. http://www.bbqconcepts.co.za/frame.html

Check out the "Product Enquiries" section of their website and give them a ring. Maybe they have a local franchise in your area, otherwise any braai shop should be able to help you out.

I've used both fuji and pacific bay, both were good.

As for motor for drying, I am using disco glass ball motors, that you can buy from any DJ Supplies store
