i see these motors rotate at a mere (but near perfect) 3RPM. and they're pretty cheap!
Interesting, thanks Pieter ! The rotisserie motor tends to be quite noisy !
Found a couple here:

What did you use as a chuck to hold the rod ?

here's a site with a few (100+) rod building tips for when you have time to go through them

My system is very, very simple. I got myself four of these motors(after buying only one for testing), I then measured the rotating "pin" and found some fish tank piping that would fit snuggly over the "pin". I find most blanks fit either tightly or loosly into this rubber tubing, those that are too loose, I simply use masking tape to secure and you have a setup that will dry 4 rod sections at a time. I will neveer take full credit for the idea though, I saw a similar setup used by Ricko from Fly Fishers Unlimited.
Hi all,
Yesterday, my epoxies arrived.
After a lot of thought, I ordered Flexcoat Lite for the wrap finish, and not the spar varnish, and the Flexcoat Rod-Builders Epoxy for the handle and reel seat. Ordered from AA Outfitters on 23 Jan and got here on 31 Jan. i'm SERIOUSLY impressed that it was so quick!
The rest of my goodies are going to be coming from Cabelas and was shipped on 26 Jan, but just as a word of warning ...
If you plan to buy the epoxies from Cabelas, they cannot ship it to a PO box here in South Africa. I don't know why, but they said that it wasn't possible.
I'll let you all know when the rest arrives ... and then the action begins!
Cheers
Devlin
