This sounds good, will definately make a plan to drown an earthworm next to you flyfishers on Friday. I've run out of olive Wooly Buggers for now!

Will be nice to hook up again on Friday Nicholas. What time you planning on going?

had lunch there about 3 weeks ago and there certainly were some fish... in fact a father and son armed with coffee grinder, sinker and worm/ bread/ bacon managed a very respectable fish which they then let squirm on the bank before fetching the camera, eventually taking a photo and 'realeasing' it...
I'll stay as long as i can fish. . .

Whenever the "club" for geniuses - MENSA - was mentioned, I always wondered if their was an opposite equivalent society for imbeciles. Now I know, it's called ANCYL.

Really??? that does not sound like the Mr Meyer fishery we all love.......I am not against coffee grinders if it gets kids fishing but the proper release of fish is a must.

As far as I'm aware, trout caught on anything other than fly may not be released and have to be killed and paid for.

I fished Eikendal on Friday afternoon and managed only one smallish fish on a stimulator. The fish are hanging in the top ½m. Missed a few on a buzzer suspended below a stimulator - struck too late I suppose. My son also got a fish on a stimulator. Both dams have been stocked with rainbows.

Fished there on Sunday for a an hour or two and managed to get a fish.

In the afternoon Mark K nailed a fish with a Tenkara rod on the first cast, with Darryl L nailing one shortly after while 'test casting'.

    So don't neglect the dries.

Sounds like a fisherman's story to me ...

Popped in on the Sunday of the last long weekend and the dam had been stocked the previous Friday If I remember correctly. The water level is nice and full. We had to take my daughter to a friend in the area and had time to kill. The wind was pumping but there were 5 guys fishing. In 4 beers time I never saw a fish come out but like I said, "Die wind, hy was daar"
Behold the fisherman. he riseth early in the morning and disturbeth the whole household. mighty are his preperations. he goes forth full of hope and when the day is ended, he returneth smelling of strong drink and the truth is not with him. originator unknown.
