    Default Midge Larvae

    Hook: Tiemco 2457 size 8
    Thread: Blood red 6/0
    Body: Clear V-Rib small
    Head: Epoxy

This is not a nymph as such,it's a larvae.Real easy peezy fly to tie and will catch u loads of fish.

    Step 1
Tie in the red thread by the eye of the hook and work it back in close consecutive turns to the bend.Once you're there,go back up to just infront of the eye of the hook.About 3mm from it it is fine.

    Step 2
Tie in the V-Rib,be sure to lay the rib exactly ontop of the shank as u work the thread over it till u reach the bend.U want a properly formed body.Reguit and straight!!!! Wrap over the V-Rib to the bend and again close consecutive turns up back to the eye.Let the bobbing hang.

    Step 3
Wrap the V-Rib anti clockwise in consecutive turns to the eye of the hook.Tie of the rib, create a little thread head, whip finish and tie off.

    Step 4
Add epoxy to the head.I kinda like this round ball head effect.Wait till dry and go fish!!!!! Just kidding about the round ball.It is not as apparant or prominent as it appears in the pic.

Ye ur quite right. The Yanks and the Brits like talking about buzzers and not midges.Don't know why.....

    Same with Caddis and Sedges.

    Gerrit,

Thanks so much for all the flies tied to date - as a relative newbie it really helps to see the various stages of tying - and has helped my own tying tremendously! You add a lot of value to the site! Thanks a million.

And so say all of us. Once again a nicely tied fly that will be a taker of fish.
