    Darryl,

I've yet to see this one spin.I fish it using a SLOW fig 8 retrieve with a few pauses and it never spun before.Maybe if you strip it faster it could spin I don't know.

Why do u think u get that spinning effect?

I think it is more prone to spinning on casting, lets face it, it is not much unlike a propellor of sorts.

I have noticed this spinning effect on casting with my bigger Royal Wulffs, it's damn annoying to say the least!

Unbalanced flies will often spin - whether it's dries with uneven wings or crabs with long legs Difficult to determine if something will spin until you try and fish them. It's like poppers, you can tie 10 and all of them will have slightly different actions - had the same experience with crabs. I see you have also left out any weight which is normally added to crabs to make them ride hook up. Even though you are using a circle hook, maybe consider adding a weed guard to prevent it hooking up on the bottom. Lastly the very long legs and overall size of the pattern may actually scare some fish - more likely trout than LM yellows. Anyway, fish it and let us know how it goes.

Ja sorry Chris I can't give loads of info yet, this pattern is still very much in it's baby shoes.

Got a Trout a few weeks back, didn't do a humangous cast and also didn't fish it for too long,I had other stuff to test as well. But what u say makes sense.

I'll just have to slow the cast down and pay extra attention on the casting of the fly.

That looks great, ok stupid question time, if you used a crab shell for the body would (A)it be allowed and (B) could it work.
