Nice Korrie - that clarity looks like NZ waters, but at 23 degrees

    Good pictures.

    Good pictures.
The only difference between NZ waters and Lower Orange is the amount of fish and the species of fish.
Sitting at the camp site, we could at times see 20 to 30 fish in the 20cm to 45cm range right in front of gazebo.
SM, Kurpers, the odd Muddy and a barbel or 2.

It is a really special place the lower Orange.
PS: another difference, as you mentioned, the water temp and the air temp. 30 degrees plus. Very seldom you get that temps in NZ

The lovely part about the Vaal and Orange River is that you can fish big rods, Double handed rods.
Francois took his Double handed rod and Skagit lines. This fish was taken on a 30 meter plus cast with a bit streamer.
really lovely to see the effortless casting of a Skagit line and the shooting out of the fly line and streamer.

Thank you Korrie. I have fished the Lower Orange for about 12 years now, and I have never seen the water quite as clear as in your pictures. Cannot wait. Any specific advice on the largemouths? I've caught my fair share of them, but I've never managed to get myself a really big one........I know, I know, I'm asking for classified top secret information.

    Korrek.
    X vir XTRA GEHEIM.
Ons het so beitjie rond gery ook, daar is seker so 30 uitstekende plekke in a 25km rivier strook.

No secrets, see posts to WINELANDS.
I think LM is not as difficult to catch as what was thought.
You have to understand their behavoir then it becomes easier.
My best was 7 LM in 2 hours. (no monsters, small to medium size) and that is all due to knowing about their hunting methods and areas. (and a secret or 2. ) joking
