    REALLY beautiful Mike ... what wood did you use for the reel-seat spacers? .. and I must say those reel seats look real high quality!!!

    yeah I really like it too...amazing what a subtle change can do, changes the whole rod.

    I like the shape, size and finish of the custom made grip a lot more than the other. Dunno so much about the burl cork rings though. I like it plain because it lets one appreciate the real seat more. But that's just me It does look really awesome though.

    thanks Mike ... I think those Rosewood ones were on sale at Cabelas if I am not mistaken .. looked great value!!!

    Damn!! Missed out then. They are quite pricey, the AmTack ones.
    I've seen a few rip-offs of this seat on other cheapie rods...but the quality is not great at all.
