Gerrit, my initial thought was the same as Korrie's. My concern is that the epoxy might have/develop edges/non-smooth bits which could fray and weaken the tippet. My thoughts anyway.

Maybe huhh,not so sure,the needle made a perfect gap for the tippet.

But,like I said in the SBS,normally I get it right with the epoxy.I had Sunday blues perhaps.

Will be more aware next time ie day 4.

I'm sure when you fish the fly it would get the odd bump on back-casts, in the water etc. Anyway, like I said, just my thoughts, never tried this method, and yes, I do get what you are saying - basically you want to hide the eye of the hook - very innovative.

Thanks for the discussion guys,this is what I have in mind for SBS.Not only my flies but others too.Discussions about it,etc,etc.

Otherwise it will become boring just posting flies and nothing is said about it.Pretty much what's happening currently.
