Great Flies,
The more I see these soft hackles, the more I feel like tying them.
Question: Do they work for yellows. If so what colours ?
I have my own ideas, but would love the input from others.
Awsome flies guys.

If you're fly fishing as though you are 'in a contest', and the only objective is to 'catch fish' - you are missing the point .... and that is disappointing

It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

I believe there are a few guys fishing for yellows with them but I am unsure of the colours.
If I had to guess, the Partridge and Orange would be a favourite for yellows!

Morne I reckon your Ryacophilla (Ollie Edwards?) will be a definite fish taker on the streams.

Very simple Herman,
I currently tie them on a wet fly / dry fly hook in R50.That will Hanak(change) soon.
Yellow,Orange or gray bodied thread to a taper, dubbing of choice for thorax and Partridge for hackle.U can even use English Grouse Soft hackle or Gadwall feathers.

Nice flies....

The wet fly is really awesome.
My personal opinion is that the hackles should stand a bit more proud from the shank.
That way, it will have a bit more of a pulsating movements.
Even when fishing it dead drift, there are micro currents working your fly under the water. But a really neat looking fly.

Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
