    Here some pics of the grain (poor Q cell pics sorry...)

    (1200grit no polish.)

    Not quite good representation, but you get the "rough" idea..

    Cross cut a 30degrees :

    Note the flamed grain on the left (That is caused by an incision at 30 to 40 degrees)

    On the right you see the effect of hollowing with the grain.

    This is the risor for a recurve bow after light polishing. (note how the pink in the grain is accented)

    Am busy experimenting with quilted grains, If i find a technique that works will let u know.

    Where are you getting yours from?
    Oooh, What's the one in the middle of the picture called??
    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

    By my calculations : 10 guava spacers and 20-30 Matumi spacers.
    But I have lots more available for you to browse through.
    Will try to get some Jacarranda when they next fell in the area.
