Thumbs up Vaal trip: 24th September

Needless to say, Wednesday the 24th is a public holiday. I, for one, will be wading the murky waters of the Vaal, hoping to catch Brutus' mommy. Will possibly be in the region of Eastco.

Anyone keen to join me and make a day of it? Newbies welcome

I need a SBS for your little epoxy nymph. Please! I tried to tie/make one last night, and it came out rather shoddy

I even looked at your one with a magnifying glass to see if i could figure it out

Add me to the list too please, the pics you sent looked flippen good - in fact if you've got time to tie a couple lets do a swap. You tie 5 epoxy rocks (cause they sink like stones) and I'll tie 5 of my control flies for you if you're keen? Always nice to have a couple of your mates flies in your box and two of my favourite flies were tied by mates (Scythe and Wade) and no matter how much I try I just cant get my copies to catch as many fish as the originals do! Starting to think they loaded them with powerbait scent or something...

Hi Kabouter, it's on the Vaal. The turnoff is about 5k's past the Eendekuil turnoff heading towards Parys.
If you could let us know which venues you know between the barrage and Parys, then we could give you more explicit directions.

Weather forcast has changed slightly, max 28 but with fairly strong winds, which should keep us cool as the cloud cover is very high early on clearing later.
