Default Things are not adding up ?

As of 20:00 tonight DWAF reports the following:
Outflow from Vaal Dam : 29 tons
Vaal at Lethabo : 5 tons
    Barrage release : 45 tons
    Vaal @ Goosebay : 80 tons
    Vaal @ Schoeman's : 55 tons

The Vaal Dam is only 95% full, why increase from 19 to 29 tons ???? Me thinks a typo here as the number and percentage of open gates is the same as for the weekend passed.
Vaal at Lethabo Weir, IGNORE, it's always wrong.
The Goosebay figure seems somewhat inflated, but let's see what the Barrage figures say for tomorrow 07:00.

What I'm trying to say is that one should look at all the figures over a period of time, and then knowing what rains have fallen above the Barrage catchment, but below the Dam Wall , work out the trend as to what the release will be.
For those near Potch please remember that you have additional feeder streams/rivers below the Barrage which can push up the flows considerably as happened a week ago.

Gerrit's advice is still the best. Phone the Venue Owner and ask them what the flows are like, after all they are the only ones who can give you a "REAL TIME" asessment.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

Schoemansdrift is approx. 12km upstream of Elgro - where the long Elgro-drfit starts; you can use this reading for Potch, but as Herman said, there are some other streams joining that might increase the flow depending where it rains.
