I suggest you contact Rens Bindeman at Witsand. He has been catching Leeries recently and fishes there often.

Some big fires burning on the infanta side of the breede - Spread all the way from Diepkloof to the village now, and looks like it will burn towards De Hoop next.

Hopefully this wet Cape Town weather will push towards that side and kill it off.

A friend called me last night with reports of big grunter being caught at Witsand.
His biggest fish, for yesterday was a 70cm fish.
Hopefully it will last for the whole long weekend

I went through yesterday, I had a couple chases and as much as it pains me to admit, I witnessed one of our upcountry counterparts hammering juvenile leeries on a small popper. Water was warm and very clear

It seems the fishing was good this weekend. Had another report of couple of 60cm plus grunter, plus your report of the juvenile leeries.
