The Merge is very Good, but does suffer from some small technical problems, like not using fill-in light, when J is wearing a hat.

What I am saying (and not detracting from the 'goodness' of The Merge) is that Touching Gold is better.
Better soundtrack
Better production
Better visuals
Better yahoo! factor
In short, award winning potential, world class.

Having said that, one must realise that one is an instructional movie, the other an exciting one.

I'd have too agree, Touching Gold does have a better soundtrack and far better action, but to compare would not be apples to apples. As you say one is instructional and the other not. The Merge also contains a number of other species whereas Touching Gold only one. Maybe...
