What do you want to target with this fly? It seems like a pretty good alternative to the real thing.
Never mistake knowledge for wisdom.
Hi Peter, that is a very nice fly. From what I can see, the eyes are tied in on the top like a clouser. So the fly will swim upside down. Have you tied the fly to compensate for that? In other words will darker side, for example, end up on the top? If you want the fly to swim hook down, tie the eyes in on the underside of the hook.
Good luck with it, post pics of the victims.

i didnt tie it guys... it wouldnt swim well, goby's swim head up with their tales almost paralysed so if i had to tie one id tie lead far back on a long shank hook and maybe bend the eye 90 degrees. just checking if anyone has tied it. it will be for spotties

I will gladly tie you some but I want to see first if they work, it still needs to take a fish.

Dewald, I won't be targeting Salt Water fish but fresh, namely LM yellows, Barbel and Bass.
The Salt/Estuary trials come in March/April next year in Plett. Will be 2 weeks at Castleton, supposedly on the Piesang Rivier.
Will however post under the relevent thread closer to the time.
