    Default Success at Stilbaai

    Hi guys

I can happily say that I had my first success at Stilbaai over the last week and a bit with leeries on fly. I did just more than a weeks fishing and got 27 leeries. I struggled to get big fish...the biggest being 50cm, but I had a great time on the water..All fish were taken on SF blend mullet in muller brown over white and slinky fibre in wild olive over shrimp...I lost a big fish close to the mouth the one morning and another big fish at the jetty close to matchbox...

Here are some pics of a few fish...

    Cheers
    Chris

Well done ... I thought the spots you were fishing would produce nicely.

Don't you want to elaborate on your post with a day to day if you can recall it all ... what phase of the push, etc. etc. etc.

Did you try dredging the deeper channels with a fast sinker and a big fly for Cob ?

Bertu, are you salting or stuck up here
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

Going to be fishing the exact spot in 10 days time, going to be in Stilbaai for 2 weeks so plenty of time to throw a fly!!!

From all the reports, it seems that the whole of the southern coast is fishing very well.

    Hi Chris,

Very nice, I have also had some success up from the bridge 3 weeks ago. This is across from Stables where the river channel switches from the stables side to the town side.

    Cheers,

    Philip
