Unacceptable! The guys from Fronteir were very quick to register on the forum when a few eyebrows were raised on the handling of trout in the Lago Rod. DVD's

Why not consider sending them a link to this thread?

......these boots are the bottom of their range.
Eventhough the Freestones are bottom of the range it doesn't mean that they should be inferior quality, especially if Simms is a superior brand!

Personally I think there are far too many people skirting the actual issue in this thread! Sometimes you need to call a spade a spade and judging by all the consumer reports these boots are not up to scratch. The product has a warranty, Kyle and Matt have raised an issue through the right channels and are being ignored. Local "brick and mortar" retailers and suppliers are constantly bleating about having to compete with the online stores, but yet this is the level of service we're subjected to? Customer Service is supposed to be one of their competitive advantages for goodness sake!

Kudo's to the retailer in the Cape for trying their best to help, but I'd be writing letters to as many fly fishing forums, publications, consumer protection sites as possible and copying the local and US Simms representatives in each and every one of them.
Exactly... That is definitely one of the reasons I try to buy local!!

I suppose now is a bad time to ask if anyone is interested in a SIMMS HEADWATER GORE-TEX WADER.
I got it at a steal ,but unfortunatily I ordered the wrong size.

At least its not the FREESTONE wader

In checking to see if this is a local problem I found these

    http://www.outdoorreview.com/cat/fly...3_1394crx.aspx

Reviewed by: Mike (Unregistered User) , 50+ days a year , from Kalispell, Montana, USA

    Price Paid: $0.00

    Summary:
I love this boot in the new olive color. they're softer, lighter, and seem very durable (although I've only used them one season)

The older brown ones ripped on the toe after just one seasons use. Returned them to Simms and they sent me the new model no questions asked.

They've held up well, but I have yet to tax them hard.

    Strengths:
Light, soft (no break-in needed), and very comfy!

    Weaknesses:
    Haven't found any yet

    Customer Service:
    Exceptional, as already stated.

My pair of Simms have had several delamination of felt issues. I got my first pair replaced after several years (for free). My second pair delaminated after a few seasons and I fixed them myself. I have since purchased another pair of Freestones (because of comfort), and hope the delamination issue has been corrected. My opinion only. Mark

looks like we getting the short end of the stick from Simms/Frontier so far

What ever you do never confuse Fishing With catching Fish !!!!

But your reasoning has a fatal flaw; it overlooks the fact that to comprehend it requires that one rub a few brain cells against each other. The heat thus generated produces the light that illuminates the fact, but alas, not everybody has the resource required to fuel the process --SG

Simply put. "Send the crap to Africa".
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.
