WPFFA in association with the youth fly fishers, have an initiative to clean up the affected beats.
With this there will be educational talks about the Clean drinking water, e-coli, entomology, littering etc.

Should any person be interested to join us, let me know.

This was a truly team effort.
    Douglas did an outstanding job.
He collected sponsored juice from SIR JUICE at 06:00 the morning.
Went back to the school to collect the kids and controlled the kids the whole day.
there were food parcels for the kids.
a talk by Ryan Weaver on Aquaculture
Molopong Aquaculture for their help in the clean-up process.
Western Cape Goverment for their assistance.

At least, the transport beat, Smalblaar 6 and Elandspad beat is cleared of all the rubbish left by the December hoiday makers and weekend day trippers.
With the floods coming soon, the rubbish wont end up in the dams downstream or the ocean at the end of the river's journey.

A BIG THANK YOU MUST GO TO THE KIDS OF TAFELBERG SCHOOL.
THESE KIDS HAVE BEEN AMAZING OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF SEASONS.
THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WILLING TO HELP OUT AS CONTROLLERS AT THE FLY FISHING TOURNAMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN HELD IN THE CAPE.
AND NOW CLEANING UP THE RIVERS!
A HUGE THUMBS UP TO THEM

Default WPFFA, BFFA and CPS Combined Elandpad/Smalblaar River Clean Up 2017

WPFFA, BFFA and CPS Combined Elandpad/Smalblaar River Clean Up 2017
    Sunday, March 12 at 8 AM - 11 AM

Your Province and the CPS needs your helping hands.
After the festive season the litter on our beloved prestige streams is atrocious and if we wish to continue to enjoy our fishing and the beautiful surroundings minus the bottles, plastic, etc. , then we need you for an hour or two on the day above.
Meet at the EP Parking area as the worst parts are SB6 and EP1 and down at SB3 (Weir) at 08:00. The provinces will provide you with refuse bags, which after filled we return to the parking area. I will arrange with Deon Rossouw from Cape Nature to collect from the parking lot.
I sincerely hope to see as many of you there as possible “Many hands make light Work!” - Oom Louis
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.
