    Default Some Crazy Charlies

    Hi there

Been tying some new Crazy Charlie patterns for the Winter Mangrove season. Would appreciate any constructive criticism for the patterns.
Some of the wings are tied using this new material, DNA, from the UK. Really nice stuff, and excited to use it for some new baitfish patterns.....

Tied some brown charlies with marabou, and also DNA.

    Hi there

Nice flies, Charlies and Crease flies are wonderful producers of fish. Two things you might want to try when you hit the vice next:

    1. Tie the eye on the Charlie further back from the eye, you'll have lots more room to tie in the wing, it'll be easier to tie and your finish will be neater.

    2. Pay careful attention to the gape of the hook you leave on your crease fly when it is finished. The body of your fly is closing that gape quite a lot and your hook up rate is going to be seriously diminished.

Other than that you got yourself a bunch of winners there!

    Tight lines and happy tying!

    Regards

Marabou can be used, but will not last, maybe mix marabou/bucktail very sparsly, marabou over b/tail for free movement.
