That water is pretty calm in the background - the fish was probably not released. Awesome fish though - would look great on any wall.

Well 25lb is a trophy fish, but hardly a record ... so one would hope they'd let it go to get bigger and fatter, but the background does suggest otherwise ... besides ... fingers in the gills ... *sigh*

Not in the gills, but the gill cover, but bet you would have ''sighed'' anyways if he used a boga grip.
