Hi anyone maybe know the Komatie river well.
Will be going up to Kruger in two weeks time and was wondering if its even worth booking a trip for a day this time of the year.
Was there in October last year and managed a few albeit not on fly.
agree that is why it is called fishing and not catching

Check out the "Tigers on the Komati river" post, a bit further down.
It's a bit cold but it's always worth a try.

Thanks Grant.
Will give it a go.
Anybody been up to the Okavango / Kavango / Kuando / Upper Zambezi lately? I hear the Kavango levels are a bit lower than last year this time. I am taking two tiger rookies up to the Kavango in a month's time. Really looking forward not only to the fishing but also the journey and the river itself! Very little bream has been caught during the recent Crockango, but good tiger. so let's hope for the best...
I heard about some good cathes, but very patchy.

Don't go knocking on Death's door, ring the bell and run like hell. He hates it. (anon)
Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
Nymphing, is fly fishing in another dimension
Never reported back on this trip... Some people don't want to brag so I will do it for them
Hows this for your first tiger on fly? 6kgs right off the bat:

And then a triple up on the breams... three species too nogal. Almost unheard of these days!
