    Hi All

Has anyone fished Luiperdkloof near Utrecht? Good/Bad? Quality of fishing and accommodation?

    Thanks

    Jean,
I know nothing about Luiperdkloof, however not too far from Utrecht is Balele, ( They avertise in TCFF ), which a friend of mine fishes and stays at at least twice a year,. I have seen the pics of the TROOT, impressive indeed.

There are also some very good Bass dams in the close vicinity.

    Maybe worth a look.

Jean, my buddy phoned me today, after reading the thread.
His comment was that Luiperdskloof is a GREAT place. It's owned by the parents of the Balele set up owners,
The accommodation is good "Gerhard's view " and the fishing even better.
The dams are quite large, so a flotation device, tube or inflatable boat are recomended.
The biggest dam is fairly deep, so make sure you have a sinking line, DI3 -DI5 in your arsenal.
Go to flies are: damsels, sparse wooly buggers, GHRE's for subsurface, then your normal trooot surface flies.
Most of his BIG fish were caught deep.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Herman

Thanks for the info, after reading your response I'm glad we made the booking!

I have spent more weekends at Balele than I remember and know it well. Reason for sniffing out Luiperdkloof was to try something new.

    Cheers

    Jean

As I understand it is owned and/or operated by the same people than on Luiperdkloof, which is predominantly (good) still water fishing. I was just hoping for a personal review from someone who has fished the location a few times.
