Thank you I certainly will.
Can't wait!
Give me a pm closer to time,i will gladly join you,it is my favourite fishing spot after all.
The current levels are the lowest in all the years i have been there, but they will be better around that time.I am predicting,if we dont see any very heavy rain that this will be the best year for lilydale in 10 years. So you might hit it very sweet.
Thank you I certainly will.
Can't wait!

Lilydale is starting to produce.I was there the weekend.
The morning was very slow and i saw no fish activity at all.I put on a cactus bugger and took a long walk along the waters edge.
It was very tough fishing and the water clarity was not great but flows are back to how i know it.I starting seeing fish hugging the edges and spooked the first 3 then started casting near fish and waiting for them to come towards me then twitch the fly and i was on.
As the day went on they got less spooky and i manged to land some very nice fish.I lost quite a few on the take as it was hard to see wether they had mouthed the fly or not.Often i could feel the tug and them come loose, obviously i struck too late and they had started ejecting the fly.
I landed a nice little largie sight fishing a very small pool next to a run and then towards the end of the day found a honey hole and landed 5 in quick succesion.
Al;l in all a good day with 10s/m and 1 largy.
The water is only 15 degrees but they are already active. If things remain like this the fishing will be off the hook in the next 2weeks and beyond.
Will be there Saturday!

Is anybody from the forum heading to Lilydale this weekend? Im going for a long weekend and it would be nice to meet up if someone else is heading there for a bit of fly fishing.
Cant wait!
Another question, is it worth taking my Ark? I guess it couldnt hurt?
Definitely take it along. There is a stretch (Grootbek) that can only really be fishing properly from an inflatable with excellent largie water.
I think you need a high clearance vehicle to get there though.

Thanks Bryan, I will take it along and fish that stretch this time around.
