    Default Ezemvelo Nature Reserve

Has anyone stayed at or fished at Ezemvelo Nature Reserve - the one near Bronkhorstspruit, not the KZN park. The Wilge runs through it, although I am not sure if they allow guests to fish it. They advertise a dam for fishing, but provide any details about the dam.

I stayed there in January and did the overnight hike.
    Beautiful place.
We were allowed to fish the dam which holds - apparently bass and carp. No success unfortunately and we had to share a section with bait fishermen.

We later moved to the river which was running brown due to high flows to see what it might hold. The park ranger, guard, whatever told us that fishing in the river is not allowed, and made it quite clear that the dam was built for those wanting to fish. Tail between the legs we went back to the dam and gave up after a while.

Nice hike though with beautiful scenery and a pond with carp and bass
You can try and sneak away to the river but be aware the guard has no sense of humour.
