    Howzit guys - I am playing around with some tube fly popper ideas at the moment. I have popper heads that I cut from foam - they are about 40mm in diameter and 60mm in length (big!), the idea it to use 8/0 circle hooks with them, onto which I will tie some wings. I need to see if I can cast these though - I will use a 14wt rod. would popper heads this size be overkill though? I am thinking bigger is better, that's what the conventional guys say. will post some pics over the weekend if anyone is interested.

    GT's, sorry should have mentioned I guess. I originally got this setup for tunny but have not had chance to use it with our recent non-existent tuna season and all...

    Conrad experimented with this for leeries with a tube fly bobs banger style popper...not easy to cast over long periods...have a chat to him about it...
