wow! those look fantastic
Hi there guys
These are the last batch of flies I'll post for a while - got to get some tying done.....
These are tied on 6/0 Trey Combs hooks and are about six to maybe seven inches long in total. I wanted something I could cast comfortably on a twelve weight but which makes a huge disturbance. The popping heads were made out of high density foam by my fishing buddy, Jannie. Once glued to the hook, they are coloured and coated with High Build. The feathers are individually glued into the foam with a couple of strands of flash down the middle.
Cheers
MC

Awesome MC.
How durable is the feathers with it glued into place?
Would love to pop them around the floating grass from the Kwansa in Angola with a 12wt.
Those dorries will smash them...

We also find ourselves there... Too
Mooi poppers MC. Wat is the diameter of the foam? Don't you find that they spin during casting?
I like the open sides of the face. I'm interested to see how it swims. Side to side action is always very nice.
MC, do you find that the open sides of the mouth change the action of the popper significantly from the typical hollowed out mouth?
