Default Trout Hatchery & stocking Issues

Does anyone know which trout hatcheries are in the Central Drakensberg Area, that one could buy Fingerlings/stockies from?

My boss owns property in the Rosetta area and has a dam on his propoerty and would like to stock the dam with trout for his own fishing purposes.

Is there any form of study/licence required before trout may be stocked into a dam?

    thanks
    Frederick

Bushman's River Trout - just outside Giant's Castle reserve.

Run by Simon and Nina Bunn - they do pretty much all the stocking here around the Midlands.

Frederick, new waters must first be inspected by nature conservation to see if the said waters do not
fall in line with a river system. This means if it does, you will not be issued with a stocking licence as that systems inhabitants will be put under threat.

The dam in question runs out into the Klein Mooi in the Rosetta area in the Midalnds. So does the klein Mooi have a Trout population? And if so how would stocked trout affect this?

Just googled ff the klein mooi river, the river itself is said to be one of the best trout streams, if so, already has trout in the system so one should have no problems. Good luck!!

Make sure the dam hasn't got bass in it already... Glen gary isn't too far from the little mooi and it's overrun with bass!

Frederick, any news on this. Maybe contact W/Avni in this area, he'll put you on track.
