    Default Largemouth Yellow Census

    Hi Guys,

Following the other largie threads I thought it might be interesting to see how many largies are caught by us fly fishers. Just to get a general idea what the "strike rate" is and how many of these great fish are still in our waters.

For all who voted "other", is there any other obvious venues not included in the Poll?

Obvious = Kraai and Modder Rivers, not so obvious = Kromelmboog and Koranna. I just voted Riet, Orange and Vaal, but I have caught Largies in all four those rivers.

Maybe it would also be interesting to know the numbers of LM caught in the Vaal before the first big water that washed the hyacinth away, ( was it about 3 years ago?) , when the clarity was better and there were hyacinth beds opposed to the last couple of years. Would be interesting to see the difference in strike rate and number of LM caught.

    Glad I can finally participate.

Lost my LM virginity the past weekend at the 3 Provinces festival. Although I got it while nymphing, it was still a fantastic feeling.
